Parenting Classes

- A four week course to increase Understanding and Effective Parental Management.

The Incredible Years
- Strengthen parenting skills.
- Promote children's social, emotional, physical and academic development.
- Two groups : Group one for parents of babies and toddlers ages 0-3. Group Two: For parents 3-6.
Trauma-Informed Parenting
- A focus on foster parents and adoptive parents.
- Children who are trauma survivors can present challenges - learn to look at the child's behavior through the lens of the traumatic experience.
- Help your child feel safe; physically and psychologically.
- Learn to help your child manage overwhelming emotions.
Parenting Education
Servicios de Esperanza is now offering an 8-week Parenting Class entitled “A Reflection of Me” in your community. The classes are formatted from the Practical Parent Education Program; an evidenced informed curriculum “founded on the principles of family systems and the ages and stages of children and addresses issues such as developing children’s confidence, self-esteem, motivation, trust, responsibility and school appropriate social skills.” During the 8-week parenting class, parents/caregivers will learn:
- How to recognize temperamental traits in their child and in themselves;
- How to develop the habit of looking for positives and strengths in their child(ren);
- How to develop an approach to discipline that is effective for their child(ren).
