Youth in Foster Care

1. Specialized Services in connection with DHS.
   
2. ​Therapist can go to the foster child's home
   
3. ​Focused skill groups
   
4. Support for the foster child and the foster parent
   
5. ​A partnership between case-management, DHS, foster care licensing, foster parents, foster youth and services of hope;  with the intention of creating successful environments and outcomes  for foster parents and foster youth.

ADD/ADHD

1. When the world is full of distractions and interruptions, it can be hard to block them out and focus and succeed.
2. This is not something that people outgrow, it is something that can be managed through behavioral interventions (CBT).
3. ​People with ADD/ADHD are not lazy, they do care about other people, it is not immaturity or stress and it is not caused by poor parenting.
4. ​The brains of people with ADD/ADHD work differently.​

Bullying

1. Learn to control emotions that lead to bullying through DBT skills
2. ​Create a tool box of skills to help your child regulate emotions, tolerate distress and have effective relationships.
3. ​Mindfulness; being in the current moment
4. ​Distress Tolerance; managing frustrations and excepting when things are out of our control
5. ​Emotional regulation; healthy emotional expression and impulse control
6. ​Interpersonal Effectiveness; How to get your needs met in relationships

Play Therapy

1. For children and families​
2. ​For help with Behavioral issues caused by bullying, grief, loss, divorce, abuse and trauma.
3. ​A tool used for addressing cognitive, behavioral and emotional challenges.  

Therapeutic Parenting Time

1. Court ordered Visitation time between the child and the non-custodial parent.
2. Working towards a predetermined parenting goal.
   
3. ​Assisted interaction organized by a licensed therapist.
   
4. Behavioral interventions and education.

What is TF-CBT?

TF-CBT is Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This form of CBT was designed to help children and adolescents recover from traumatic experiences. It has been proven to improve children's trauma symptoms. For more information regarding TF-CBT, visit

Services of Hope prides itself in having 3 certified TF-CBT workers. With this service being proven to be beneficial by the federal government's Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, it is a service we are happy to be able to provide to our community.
